Miller

Sometimes NPC’s members and partners are needed to make things happen when other processes won’t work. When Route 15 was being expanded and relocated to its current location, PennDOT had to condemn numerous properties. After the condemnations Mr. and Mrs. Miller were left with a small, land locked parcel. The parcel adjoined existing State Game Lands and the Pennsylvania Game Commission was interested in owning it. NPC and the Game Commission’s land manager worked to pull together funding with help from Ruffed Grouse Society, Lycoming Audubon Society, Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Susquehanna Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Foundation for the acquisition of the property. The site allows for better access by the Game Commission’s staff for management and maintenance.
