The landowner’s primary motivation for placing a conservation easement on 18 acres of the 23-acre property was to protect frontage along Towanda Creek and the public access to the creek from the property. The property contains approximately 3,200 feet of frontage along Towanda Creek, providing scenic views of the creek from two public roadways. The easement allows for public access to the creek for fishing, swimming, and other outdoor activities. The protected area along the creek also provides a good buffer between the creek and the community of Monroeton.
