The northcentral region of Pennsylvania recently moved to “yellow” in the statewide Phased Reopening plan. While we are optimistic about these gradual steps towards stability, we also respect that a lot of uncertainties still remain surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
While in the “yellow” phase:
Gatherings of more than 25 people are prohibited
Restaurants are still only allowed delivery and curbside pick-up
These 2 factors alone would make it unfeasible to move forward with the meeting/celebration as planned.
We also explored the idea of hosting a virtual membership meeting, however, we recognize that all members in our region may not have access to high speed internet.
For these reasons, but ultimately for the safety of our membership, the Board of Directors has decided to cancel this year’s event and continue with the present Board members for an additional year. Thank you Phyllis Reynolds and Roy Siefert for agreeing to serve an additional year. It seems to make sense to continue with a Board elected under “normal procedures” until there is an opportunity to hold an in-person membership meeting.
If you have concerns about this decision, please contact Renee’ Carey by May 31, 2020. Leave a phone message at 570-323-6222 or send an email to rcarey@npcweb.org.
Yes, this year has been one of many, many changes! But, like the natural phenomenons that occur all around us, we too, have the ability to adapt.
We miss seeing you – NPC members, volunteers, staff, project partners, visitors – all of you! But, we remain connected by the NPC mission and the work that continues outside of these social interactions.
Thank you for adapting with us, for your patience, and for your support as we navigate these uncharted waters.
Stay well,
The NPC Board of Directors and Staff
We look forward to celebrating 30+1 years of conservation with you at Herman & Luther’s in 2021 (date TBD)!
Thank you to the following sponsors for their support of NPC!
