Reneé Carey, Executive Director (rcarey@npcweb.org)
Reneé has been with the Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy since 1994, becoming Executive Director in 1998. She is past President of WeConservePA, and still serves on the organization’s board as well as its conference committee. Additionally, Renee’ sits on the board of the Center for Private Forests at Penn State and serves on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Forest Stewardship Committee. On the weekends you will find Renee’ out for a hike, paddle, or xc-ski depending on the season.
Bridget Kane, Special Projects Coordinator (bkane@npcweb.org)
Bridget worked for the Potomac Conservancy while pursuing her Masters of Science in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology at the University of Maryland. After graduating she moved to PA and worked on projects to foster citizen stewardship of water resources and to provide technical assistance to communities looking to undertake projects to improve their connection to the Susquehanna River or West Branch Susquehanna River. In her free time, Bridget is active with Junior League and enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
Benjamin Phillippi, Bookkeeper (bphillippi@npcweb.org)
Ben is a full-time student at Commonwealth University’s Lock Haven Campus. Before entering the Bachelors Degree accounting program he used his Associates Degree from Reading Area Community College to handle accounts payable at the Philadelphia Orchestra. Ben completed the Penn State Watershed Steward training so the work and projects at NPC aren’t all jargon to him. In his free time you’ll find Ben hiking or in the kitchen exploring recipes.
Sara Schlesinger, Land Steward Specialist (sschlesinger@npcweb.org)
Sara spent time as a vegetation specialist for a utility company and worked as a Stream and Wetland Restoration Technician for The Trust for Tomorrow. At the Trust for Tomorrow she executed stream surveys, created project maps, participated in the construction of stream stabilization & habitat projects and riparian buffer planting, identified properties to enroll in easements and monitored wetlands. When not working in the outdoors, she’s playing in the outdoors with her dog.
Holly Byers, Communications Coordinator (hbyers@npcweb.org)
Holly previously served as the Outreach Director for the Downeast Coastal Conservancy in Maine, before returning to her hometown of Hughesville, PA in 2018. She has a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Arcadia University and volunteers with a number of youth programs, including Heartworks at UPMC and Hughesville AYSO. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and two young children, baking, and reffing PIAA soccer.
