This 126 acre farm is comprised primarily of rolling hayfields, but there is a significant amount of woodland as well as some wetland. A portion of the farmland is on prime agricultural soil. In the donors’ family since 1952, the donors wanted to protect the farm from possible development.
Part of the headwaters of Babbs Creek is located on this farm. Babbs Creek flows into Pine Creek and then into the West Branch Susquehanna River. Adjacent to another property under easement with the Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy (Welsh Settlement easement), this property is also near two other NPC conserved properties in Charleston Township.
