Kick off 2026 with a guided hike through NPC’s beautiful Coal Creek property in Blossburg! Join the Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy (NPC) as we explore the natural and geological highlights of this conserved landscape.

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Island Park, Blossburg (meet at the skate park parking area)
We’ll gather at Island Park before walking to the trailhead together to begin our hike! This 3+ mile loop includes a stop at a small Abandoned Mine Drainage discharge site and a scenic vista overlooking Blossburg. The route follows a dirt road that is somewhat rutted and a steep woodland trail. Expect an uphill climb on the way out and a downhill walk on the return.
What to Bring:
- Sturdy footwear suitable for uneven terrain. If there’s snow or ice, traction spikes or ice cleats are required.
- Trekking poles (if you use them).
- Weather-appropriate clothing.
- Water and snacks.

- The hike is weather- and ground-condition-dependent; updates will be shared if rescheduling is needed.
